Your ISLAND BIKE PARK

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort is a Year-Round Recreation Destination

30-minutes from the Comox Valley, you'll find the mountain oasis of Mount Washington Alpine Resort. Towering 1,588 m above sea level boasts an impressive range of lift-accessed trail offerings from natural, hand-built tech trails to machine-built flow, offering excitement for all abilities! Look up from a burly machine-crafted trail to a perspective of alpine to ocean vistas. The perfect reprieve from a hard Cumberland pedal day.

Enjoy the authentic west coast, where the clock ticks a little slower. Island time radiates throughout the happy, laid-back locals who prosper in the bounty of fresh local fair, beautiful climate, and an endless coastal playground.

Home of Vancouver Island's longest zip line experience, the gnarly Monster Mile trail and events like the beloved Steve Smith Memorial and legendary Bearclaw Invitational, there's always something to look forward to during summer at Mount Washington.

The Bike Park season is coming in HOT! The alpine snow melted quickly this year, making winter a distant memory - our Trail Crew has been busy digging dirt in preparation for an exciting start to the 2024 Bike Park season. Visiting only five times this summer makes a Season Pass worthwhile compared to riding on single-day lift tickets. With all the exciting bike races, events and more on deck here in the alpine this season, why not make it simple with flexible and affordable lift-accessed biking you can enjoy any day all summer long.
Mount Washington Bike Park
Captain Richards named Mount Washington as he explored Canada's Pacific Coast in 1860; choosing the name Mount Washington after the Rear Admiral John Washington, who was the Official Hydrographer to the Royal Navy. Mount Washington Alpine Resort was established in 1979 by Henry Norie and Alex Linton, two Campbell River businessmen. The idea originated in 1975 when Linton, an avid skier and local businessman, was impressed by Mount Washington's height and snowpack.

Together with Norie, who owned a helicopter, they surveyed the mountain. Construction commenced in 1977, making Mt. Washington one of the first master-planned resorts in British Columbia, officially opening to the public in 1979.
