Camp Breakdown: Day 1 – Exploration:
What better way to start camp than getting up close with the local creatures who call the mountain home. The group will spend the morning at the Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery centre where local researchers will teach us all about the species and what they are doing to save the Marmots from extinction. Later in the day, the group will participate in various games with the camp leaders that promote conservation and connection with their natural surroundings. Following lunch, the group will take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain and games participate in games back at the Alpine Lodge.

Day 2 – Bike Skills and Progression:
Participants will start the day learning skills and maneuvers and building their confidence through basic techniques such as cornering, braking, climbing, and descending. Learning how to get your wheels off the ground? Instructors will cover techniques on how to do this safely and efficiently. The day will be spent on pedal-accessible areas of the mountain and within the skills areas. Part of the day will be spent learning from our Trail Crew, what it takes to build and maintain the bike trails you love to ride!

Day 3 – All Things Alpine:
We kick the day off with our expert bike mechanics, learning how to perform pre-ride bike checks, the tools needed for basic trailside fixes and the various component that make your bike run! After lunch, the group will head out on a cross-country ride on our Finger Trail. ** Scenic chairlift ride and mountain top hike will occur on either day 2 or 3 depending on timing**

Day 4 – Bike Park:
Hip hip hooray, it’s Bike Park day! The group will spend the day taking those newly learned skills to the trails. Continuing to progress and develop those important maneuvers and techniques and challenging themselves on new features in the park!
