The VIB Slush Cup & Snow Bar

Participants must be in costume to sign up starting at 11 am on the same day of the event! Spots are limited and costumes are mandatory! FREE Slow Tide towel for the first 30 people!

An annual favourite! Participants dress in outrageous attire and straight-line it over the giant custom slush pit, showcasing their finest moves. The challenge is to cross the pit without getting wet! We promise a more pond-skimmable experience this year... Prizes given out at random for best costumes, best jumps, and crowd favourites! Presented by our friends at Vancouver Island Brewing.

The spectator show is planned to start at 2 pm, on Sunday, April 13th outside The Alpine Lodge. Participants under 19 years old must have a parent or guardian present to sign their event waiver.

Event Schedule:

• 11am until full - Slush Cup Registration - spots are limited, line up early! You must be in costume, in person, to sign up. Minors under the age of 18 need a parent/guardian present to sign their waiver.
• 11am - 4pm: Beer Garden Snow Bar + Sound Stage! Come enjoy the outdoor WJ Snow Bar and BBQ with featuring five local DJ's leading up to the Slush Cup splash.
• 2pm - Slush Cup begins
• 4pm - 6pm: After Party in Ted's Bar! Featuring DJ's from Sitika Sound Collective! End our season together with a splash!

Pond Skimming Tips:

• Speed is your friend.
• Don’t lean back; keep your weight centered and tips up.
• Bend your knees and keep your hands forward.
• Wider skis (most skimmers say) help with float.
• Bring an extra pair of boots and dry clothes for the day.
• Have a splash!
