The Vancouver Island Biathlon Club is proud to host the 3rd annual Odlum Brown U13 BC Biathlon Championships. The weekend will include individual races and fun competitions along with relays and team events. Each competition will be worth points towards the overall win. The Bear with the most points at the end of the weekend will earn the title of “Ultimate Biathlon Bear Warrior”
The event will be held March 8th to 10th at the VIBC stadium in the Nordic ski area of Mt Washington. Event webpage https://vibiathlon.ca/wp/races/
Schedule:
Friday 8th March
- Noon- 3 pm. Race package pick up
- Noon-2pm. Range is open for training
- 2:30pm. Adventure ski tour approx. 1 hour
Saturday 9th March
- 8:00.. Race office opens
- 9:00-9:45. Range open for rifle zeroing
- 10:00 Competition 1 INDIVIDUAL race. 4 Laps. 3 Shooting bouts. 30 second interval starts. Time penalty: 30 seconds per miss. Race order will be Novice Boys, Novice Girls, U13 Boys, U13 Girls, 13+ Boys, 13+ Girls.
- 11:30 Competition #2. Shooting competition. Quick Shot! This will be all on BIG targets. Each round loaded individually. Each Competition category competes separately.
- 12:15-1:00. LUNCH and reload!
- 1:00 Competition #3. Ski competition. Points are given by placing. Each category starts together.
- 2:00. Competition #4. Shooting Competition. 10 shots at the stand-alone target. Each shot that is inside the target is worth 10 points.
- 3:30. Bonfire and s’mores!
Sunday, March 10th.
- 9:00-9:45 ZERO
- 10:00 Competition #5. Mass Start
- 10:00 am – Novice Boys/Girls
- 10:30 am – Juvenile Boys/Girls
- 11:00 am – 13+ Boys/Girls 4 Laps. 3 Shooting bouts. Penalty loop for each miss.
- 11:30 Competition #6. The Grand Finale shooting competition.
- 12:30 Awards.
