Mountain Cleanup SEE ALL

From June 02, 2021 9:30am until June 02, 2021 4:30pm

Wednesday, June 2nd @ 9:45 am - Staff and select volunteers have been invited to join us for the Mountain Clean-Up! As the snow quickly melts and we look ahead to summer, the mountain will be in need of a clean-up! Many treasures (and lots of trash) comes out of hiding. This area is home to many diverse, native and endangered species here on VI. So thank you for being stewards of the land that we all love. The area has seen lots of use throughout the winter for many people that needed an outdoor outlet during these unprecedented times. However, this means, since the snowmelt - we've noticed an above-average amount of garbage littered across the landscape (i.e. masks, single-use plastics, cans/bottles, etc).

Thank you for volunteering! We are no longer accepting registrations.

  • 9:45 am Start, BBQ to follow
  • Bubbled groups will set off to different sections of the resort with bags and pickers to collect trash.
  • Please meet outside the front of the Alpine Day-Lodge for a morning meeting and plan of attack. (PLEASE SOCIAL DISTANCE AT ALL TIMES!)
  • Bags, latex gloves, and picking sticks will be provided by the resort! (But if you happen to have a picker please bring it up with you)
  • Inside the resort will still remain closed to all public.
  • A BBQ will be provided for all participants. But bring snacks if you feel you'll need some fuel throughout the day!
  • Please watch the weather and dress appropriately! This time of year can still be very cold up on the resort compared to down in the valley.
  • We have accounted for only a select number of volunteers, so if you are planning on bringing more people in your party, please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. • Please practice social distancing and mask-wearing around others when at the resort.
  • We have only included volunteers from the Comox Valley area to comply with BC health regulations, please don't attend this event if you have to travel from out of town.
  • The mountain still remains closed to the public, so please do not encourage other parties to come up unless they've been approved.
