The new "Eagle View Bistro" with wood and stone accents has a modern decor with a touch of mountain in it. Offering free trade organic coffee that is locally roasted; the mornings come with fresh baked muffins and the mountain's famous sticky buns. Switching into lunch, the bistro will be a great place to meet friends and fill up on panini sandwiches, fresh salads and homemade soups. A distinctly different apres with a charcuterie platter is the reason to come in after a day on the slopes. You can enjoy some great food and spend some quality time enjoying the sunset. For dinner, the Eagle View Bistro offers a fresh sheet with flare. Fully licensed, the Bistro, with big picture windows facing the mountain and Strathcona Park, will quickly begin to be a favourite place to eat, meet and hang out.

Daniele Mereu - Corporate Specialist & Sysco Brand Manager Sysco Victoria

Daniele Mereu grew up at his family’s farm and vineyard in the Province of Asti in the Piedmont Region of North Italy where his father Cosimo and his mother Celestina grew Barbera and Moscato grapes. This is where Daniele’s passion for food and wine was born , and where he received his initial introduction to the hard work involved in the production of excellent ingredients and products. Further up he took his passion for wine into professional kitchens and pursued two complementary careers. He had consulted many restaurants regarding the projection of their kitchens, their food preparation, their food safety (HACCP) and the effects of nutritional content of food. Daniele has more than twenty years of experience cooking around the World, where on a Cruise Ship or at some of the best Restaurants in Europe or at one of the best Winery of Sicily ((www.Planeta.en). In 2007 he graduated with full marks from the University of Gastronomic/Food Science of Pollenzo, Cuneo Italy near Turin. This was the first University of it's kind, and it opened to the World in 2004. It was founded by the SlowFood movement in collaboration with the Regions of Piedmont and Emilia Romagna. He now lives back in Victoria BC with his lovely family of 4 kids and his girlfriend Katie, still growing vegetables, making wine and cider ( from real fruit) and conducting cheese classes and wine tasting around Vancouver Island. And , of course, he works for Sysco Victoria as a Culinary Specialist and Product Developer and as a Sysco brand Manager.
