Mount Washington elevates sightseeing this weekend as the resort kicks off another summer season of festivals, events and treating visitors to one of the North America's most magnificent views.
“The view from the top of the mountain is second to none,” says Don Sharpe, Director of Business Operations and Marketing. “It's the kind of view that's easy to show off to your visiting family and friends.”
The resort opens its Mile High Chairlift Rides, family activities and Fat Teddy's Summer Grill this Friday, June 28. The resort is open from 11:30am to 5:30pm Sunday to Thursday and 11:30am to 7:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The mountain's event and festival calendar is full of highlights this summer. New to the lineup is the popular Mudd, Sweat and Tears (MST) obstacle course mud run event series. The 5 and 10 kilometre races will lead runners through a myriad of mud and obstacles which combine the best organic features of the mountain with unique constructed obstacles. MST is not for the faint of heart and will offer unbelievable action for both participants and spectators. MST takes place August 17. Register online at muddsweatandtears.com.
Mount Washington's popular Beer Festival, re-branded “Tapped” this summer, and the Alpine Wine Festival return in July and August respectively. Tapped features a massive array of breweries to sample from plus the addition of a unique and informative beer seminar hosted by Jeff Lucas from Cascadia Liquor Stores. The brews are poured Friday, July 12.
The Alpine Wine Festival also benefits from more wines to choose from this season. Over 14 wineries and distributors will be bringing a multitude of varietals to sample on Friday, August 9. A sumptuous Wine Pairing Dinner on Saturday, August 10 will be hosted by sommelier Jason Hyde of Peacock and Martin. He will be joined by guest chef Daniele Mereu to deliver a gourmet six-course dinner paired with perfect complementary wines.
Bike events continue at Mount Washington this summer. The Bearclaw Invitational and BC Cup Provincial Championships return simultaneously to the mountain August 23-25. The Bearclaw Invitational brings the best freeride mountain bikers on the planet to the slopes of Mount Washington. The BC Cup gives downhill racers the chance to once again challenge the famed Monster Mile DH course.
