Mount Washington Alpine Resort - Media Release2012-01-25 - CWSAA Visits Mount Washington Image: CWSAA Board Members take a tour of the mountain. The Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA) recently concluded its winter Board of Directors meetings at Mount Washington Alpine Resort. The Board enjoyed some pristine ski conditions, between meeting time, from January 17-19. This is the first time the CWSAA Board meetings were held on Vancouver Island. "It was great to see the CWSAA visit the Island," explains Resort President and CWSAA Board Chair Peter Gibson. "Many were impressed with the ease of access to the Island via Westjet and most of all, they were impressed with the beautiful views from the top of the mountain." The CWSAA is the representative body for the ski areas and heli and snowcat operations of British Columbia and Yukon, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Board members came to the Island from as far away as Asessippi Ski Area in Manitoba. Other Resorts attending the meetings included Whistler/Blackcomb, Marmot Basin, Sunshine Village and Cypress Mountain. Mount Washington Alpine Resort is located 30 minutes above the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. WestJet, Central Mountain Air, Pacific Coastal Airlines, and Island Express service the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ).
