The Freak Out has a welcome addition this season: the Camp of Champions Big Air Bag which will allow riders to throw down crazy tricks with a painless landing. Festival goers can hit the jump and air bag all weekend long with a free donation to the local food bank.
The Islander Lager Year Ender Bender DH Race will be held on the Big Brother trail at 2pm on Saturday (registration at the Tread Shed from 12:00-1pm for just $5, includes a frosty beverage). And the Island Jump Jam will be hosted by pro biker Jordie Lunn on Sunday at 3pm (registration at the Tread Shed from 11am-1pm- $15 to compete).
There will be activities for all ages, including a kids bike safety course hosted by Mountain City Cycles, kids bike race and bike decorating contest, face painting, Islander Lager Patio Party and a BBQ in the Alpine courtyard. If you're looking for some great end of season deals, the Tread Shed will have the sale to end all sales on bike gear, plus there will be discounts on Learn to Ride packages. It's never too late to learn and you should check out our new Green Line trail for beginners!
There's so much going on at the Freak Out that we almost forgot to mention, women ride for free and the boys pay just $25 during this weekend of celebration for the Island biking community.
See you at the Freak Out!
