The Snow has Returned

Article Date: February-11-2011

We all know that La Nina put in some serious overtime hours in December.  She produced copious amounts of snowfall, smashed our short term snowfall records and basically made every skier and snowboarder extremely happy...well, the ones that like copious amounts of snowfall anyways!  La Nina decided to go on a brief vacation during January but guess what?  She's back!  We're getting some beautiful, light snowfall right now and the long range forecast is cold and snowy through the weekend.  With our current snowbase of over 450cms, it won't take long for the Wash to transform back into a powdery and blissful winter wonderland...La Nina means we'll be sking ya!  Ski ya sooner than later!!

Mount Washington would also like to announce that we will be re-opening for Extended Weekends April 15, 16, 17 & April 22, 23, 24, 25, 2011. more details coming soon!

Love is in the Air

Perhpas La Nina was getting into the Valentine's spirit Wednesday, putting on a show for a wedding at the resort.  Mike and Naomi (now) Mousseau exchanged vows under the snow flakes in the forest behind the Bradley Centre.   From Victoria, the couple decided after their christmas visit to Mt Washington, that it's 'such a beautiful place', perfect for them to marry. The couple have know each other for 13 years meeting as colleagues.  When the celebrant, Patricia Heaven stated "may you always remember and cherish this moment', the groom said quietly, 'Sure will'.  Members of the marketing team, Amanda and Jeanette were excited to witness the ceremony and Mt Washington wished them well in their lives together with some tickets for skiing and chocolates.
